Complete and Detailed Sun PhuQuoc Airways Baggage Rules

Sun PhuQuoc Airways regulates baggage based on ticket class and baggage type, including carry-on baggage, checked baggage, excess baggage, and restricted items. Passengers should clearly understand these regulations before their flight to prepare their luggage according to standards.

1. Carry-on Baggage Regulations

Sun PhuQuoc Airways regulates carry-on baggage by ticket class, consisting of one primary carry-on bag and one small personal item. The total weight is calculated within the passenger's free carry-on allowance.

In addition to the carry-on baggage, passengers may bring 01 personal item such as a handbag, pocketbook, wallet, thin blanket, umbrella/walking stick, laptop, small camera, or binoculars. This item must weigh a maximum of 3 kg and is included in the total free carry-on allowance.

Passengers traveling with infants may bring additional items for the child, such as a diaper bag (max 3 kg), a small bassinet, or a lightweight collapsible stroller that fits in the overhead cabin bin, subject to airline conditions.

Additionally, items such as duty-free bags purchased at the airport on the day of travel, crutches/walking aids, and coats are free of charge according to SPA regulations.

Note: Carry-on baggage that does not meet the size requirements will not be permitted through the departure gate. In such cases, passengers must return to the check-in counter to check the baggage.

See detailed regulations on carry-on baggage of Sun PhuQuoc Airways.

2. Checked Baggage Regulations

Sun PhuQuoc Airways applies free checked baggage standards based on ticket class. Checked baggage is transported in the aircraft's hold and is inaccessible to passengers during the flight.

Economy

01 piece, max 23kg

Business

02 pieces, max 23kg each

Each checked baggage piece has a maximum weight of 23kg. The total dimensions (length + width + height) of each piece must not exceed 158cm.

Checked Baggage Packing Conditions

Baggage must be securely packed before check-in. Suitcases and bags must be intact, without tears, holes, or deformities; zippers must be closed, and handles tucked away. For baggage with straps, the straps must be tied down to minimize the risk of getting caught in the conveyor belt during transport.

Each piece of baggage must be labeled with a tag containing the baggage tag number, flight number, and passenger name. For special items such as fish sauce, durian, or jackfruit, passengers must comply with specific packing conditions according to airline regulations.

In addition to the above standards, SPA transports certain child-care items and personal medical equipment—such as strollers, car seats, wheelchairs, crutches, canes, and other assistive devices—free of charge, subject to applicable conditions.

3. Excess Baggage Regulations

Excess baggage is baggage that exceeds the free baggage allowance recorded on the ticket. Fees are calculated based on the excess beyond the free allowance.

Passengers can purchase additional baggage in two ways:

  • Prepaid baggage: Applies per itinerary, with baggage packages of various weights and fees.

  • Excess baggage at the airport: Applies when purchasing extra baggage within the specified time before departure or when baggage exceeds standard weight/dimension limits.

For purchased extra baggage, a standard piece has a maximum weight of 23kg and total dimensions not exceeding 158cm. In cases exceeding these limits, passengers may be charged additional overweight and/or oversize fees according to the regulations applicable to each route.

Passengers with excess baggage must present it at the check-in counter within the airline's specified timeframe.

4. Special Baggage Regulations

SPA accepts certain types of special baggage subject to specific conditions regarding weight, dimensions, packaging, and registration time. These include:

  • Sports equipment and bicycles: Baggage not exceeding 23 kg and with total dimensions not exceeding 203 cm is included in the free allowance. Items over 23 kg up to 32 kg are still accepted subject to excess weight fees. Items over 32 kg or over 203 cm are not transported as checked baggage.

  • Golf sets: Max 23 kg/set, including up to 14 clubs, 12 balls, 1 pair of golf shoes, and tees. On some Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia routes, SPA offers a free golf set allowance subject to conditions. This service must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.

  • Cabin-seat baggage: Max 75 kg/seat and dimensions not exceeding 40 × 50 × 160 cm/seat. Passengers must book this service at least 24 hours in advance and may purchase a maximum of 1 extra seat.

  • Alcoholic beverages: Beverages with an alcohol content above 70% are not permitted. Beverages between 24% and 70% must meet volume, quantity, and packaging limits according to regulations.

  • Pets: SPA currently does not accept live animal transport on flights.

  • Perishables: Certain items such as fish sauce, durian, and jackfruit are accepted under specific conditions. Max 3 liters of fish sauce per person; max 5 kg of durian or jackfruit per person. Dry ice used to preserve perishables is capped at 2.5 kg per person.

  • Fragile items: Must be packed appropriately. In cases of checking fragile items or valuables, passengers assume risks according to airline policies.

  • Wheelchairs, assistive devices, and strollers: Transported free of charge according to SPA's applicable conditions.

Passengers should check specific conditions and pre-register special baggage items to ensure transport availability.

5. Permitted and Conditionally Transported Items

Certain items are accepted by SPA when meeting conditions regarding type, weight, packaging, and safety. Main groups include:

  • Lithium batteries and devices containing lithium batteries: Power banks and portable chargers may not be checked; some batteries have capacity limits and require airline approval. Batteries or devices exceeding 160 Wh or 8 g of lithium are not transported.

  • Dry ice: Accepted up to 2.5 kg/person to preserve perishables. Passengers must contact SPA in advance for approval and packing instructions.

  • Liquids and aerosols: Some liquids, thick substances, and aerosols are permitted when each container is no more than 0.5 kg or 0.5 liters, with a total amount not exceeding 2 kg or 2 liters/person, and provided they meet packaging requirements.

  • Alcoholic beverages: Beverages with an alcohol content of 24% or less are not restricted; those between 24% and 70% must meet volume, quantity, and packaging limits; those over 70% are not permitted.

  • Fresh goods, seafood, and frozen food: Accepted only as checked baggage and must be packed tightly to prevent leakage and avoid affecting other baggage.

  • Strong-smelling items: Fish sauce and other pungent liquids are accepted only as checked baggage provided they meet packaging and sealing requirements. Durian, jackfruit, and their products are accepted only as checked baggage.

  • Ashes and human remains: Ashes are accepted in both carry-on and checked baggage upon meeting packing and documentation conditions. Remains are transported only as checked baggage on domestic flights.

6. Restricted or Prohibited Items

Sun PhuQuoc Airways prohibits or restricts certain items to ensure flight safety. Passengers must check these regulations before packing.

  • Explosives: Grenades, gunpowder, flares, fireworks, and similar items.

  • Radioactive, infectious, toxic, or corrosive substances: Chlorine, bleach, oxidizing agents, mercury, infectious substances, and radioactive materials.

  • Gases and flammable items: Gasoline, lighter fuel, flammable liquids, and alcoholic beverages over 70%.

  • Other dangerous items: Fire extinguishers, dry ice over 2.5 kg, lithium batteries for electronic devices over 160 Wh or 8 g of lithium.

  • Sharp objects and weapons: Knives, swords, multi-tools, darts, scissors, axes, and similar items may not be carried on your person or in carry-on baggage.

  • Guns, ammunition, and similar items: Including firearms, gun parts, ammunition, stun guns, tasers, and toy guns.

  • Tools that may cause injury: Crowbars, hoes, drills, blowtorches, hammers, wrenches, and tools with blades longer than 6 cm or a total length exceeding 10 cm.

  • Items prohibited in checked baggage: Cash, jewelry, cameras, computers, mobile phones, lithium batteries, and power banks.

Passengers should check the specific transport conditions for each item type before check-in, especially concerning lithium batteries, power banks, and items posing fire or explosion risks.
